Hadassah Hospital Director General Receives Grand Reception at Hadassah France Concert Attended by 1500 People
Celebrating the new research partnership between the Hadassah Medical Center and the Gustave-Roussy Institute, France’s leading cancer center, Hadassah France hosted a concert attended by over 1500 people, featuring Hadassah Director General Prof. Shlomo Mor-Yosef and Gustave-Roussy Institute Director Prof. Thomas Tursz and raising €200,000 euros.
Under the patronage of French President His Excellency Nicolas Sarkozy, the evening included a tribute to the music of Leonard Bernstein, performed by an ensemble of musicians from St. Petersburg. Among the distinguished guests were HE Daniel Shek, Israel's Ambassador to France; Simone Veil, former French Minister of Health and President of the Board, Gustave-Roussy Foundation; and current French Cabinet ministers, mayors, and deputy mayors.

In his address to the audience, Prof. Tursz noted: “This is the partner we have been waiting for. Hadassah Hospital is our dream come true.” Waves of clapping interrupted Prof. Mor-Yosef’s presentation as he stressed how touched he was by the tangible feeling of support among the participants, who filled the gilded auditorium and three balconies of Paris’s Theatre du Châtelet.
Osnat Moskowitz, Director of the Hadassah Medical Center’s Development, Donors and Events Department, who had the pleasure of attending, notes, “It was the outpouring of love and respect for our Hadassah Hospital that made the evening so special.” She adds: “As I sat there surrounded by those warm and caring people, I could hardly contain my pride that Hadassah Hospital is the link which connects Israel and people throughout the world.”
“We can be very proud of our French Unit,” relates Hadassah Austria President Susi Shaked, who also attended the event. “The organizers hosted a stupendous gala!”
